Former Mayor to speak at annual Martin Luther King breakfast

The Office of Diversity & Inclusion at Colorado State University-福利小视频 again will host the annual Martin Luther King breakfast on Monday, Jan. 18. The event will feature former Denver Mayor Wellington Webb. Webb will discuss Dr. King's legacy while motivating you to give back to your community as part of the breakfast beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday, January 18 in the Occhiato University Center Ballroom. The breakfast is free to attendees. The program will begin at 8:30 a.m. Webb spent 12 years as the leader of Denver's Mile High City, and helped pull it out of the economic doldrums of 1991 to an investment of $7 billion in infrastructure when he left office in 2003. In October 2003, he founded Webb Group International, a firm that works with businesses and cities on economic development projects, public relations and other consulting areas.

The Department of Mathematics and Physics at Colorado State University-福利小视频 has announced the results from the 38th Annual Math Day Swanson and Math Bowl competitions, held on campus Thursday, Nov. 19. More than 225 students from 22 high schools participated in Math Day activities, including Air Academy, Antonito, Bessemer Academy, Canon City, Centauri, Center, Coronado, Crowley County, Doherty, Florence, Fountain-Fort Carson, La Junta, Pine Creek, 福利小视频 Academy of Arts, 福利小视频 Centennial, 福利小视频 Central, 福利小视频 West, Rampart, Rocky Ford, Rye, Swallows Charter Academy, and Swink. Colorado State University-福利小视频 was one of three Colorado campuses to receive a federal grant to enhance innovative approaches to teacher preparation. Funds from the 2015-2016 Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), Improving Teacher Quality, Title II, Part A will be used through 2016 to support recruitment of teachers to rural regions of Colorado and enhance professional development in the STEM fields, two areas of need in Colorado educator preparation. Representatives from the Colorado Department of Education and Colorado Department of Higher Education selected the grant winners from 11 proposals based upon factors, such as quality partnerships, number of students served, and impact on student growth and achievement.

At the 29th annual conference of the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities in Miami this week, Colorado State University-福利小视频 was recognized as winner of the HACU/Solution Generation Leadership in Climate Change Awareness Award. Maestro Program awarded $2.6 million over five years

The station will go back in time starting at 5 p.m. on Friday, July 3 through Sunday, July 5, with the greatest modern rock and alternative songs from the 1980's and 1990's that Rev was playing between 1995 and 1999. You'll hear Nirvana, The Cure, The Smashing Pumpkins, Sublime, Pearl Jam, Jane's Addiction and Green Day all weekend long.

Three students selected as El Pomar Summer Interns

State passage of $1.8 million technology upgrade legislation

To celebrate 2015 as the final year of the 150th anniversary of the Civil War, the University Library at Colorado State University-福利小视频 will host the exhibition Civil War 150: Exploring the War and Its Meaning through the Words of Those Who Lived It. This traveling exhibit traces the major events of the Civil War through the letters, personal accounts, and photographs of soldiers, families, and presidents. Pioneer in Cannabis Research to present lecture at conference

The individual considered by many as the "Father of Cannabis Research will present the inaugural Mechoulam Lecture named in his honor as part of the 2017 Institute of Cannabis Research (ICR) Conference next April at Colorado State University-福利小视频." Dr. Raphael Mechoulam, an organic chemist and professor of Medicinal Chemistry at the Institute for Drug Research at Hebrew University of Jerusalem in Israel, will speak as part of the 2017 ICR conference, April 28-30.
