Former Mayor to speak at annual Martin Luther King breakfast

The Diversity Resource Center at Colorado State University-福利小视频 again will host the annual Martin Luther King breakfast on Monday, Jan. 18. The event will feature former Denver Mayor Wellington Webb. Webb will discuss Dr. King's legacy while motivating you to give back to your community as part of the breakfast beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday, January 18 in the Occhiato University Center Ballroom. The breakfast is free to attendees. The program will begin at 8:30 a.m. Webb spent 12 years as the leader of Denver's Mile High City, and helped pull it out of the economic doldrums of 1991 to an investment of $7 billion in infrastructure when he left office in 2003. In October 2003, he founded Webb Group International, a firm that works with businesses and cities on economic development projects, public relations and other consulting areas.

The Department of Mathematics and Physics at Colorado State University-福利小视频 has announced the results from the 37th Annual Math Day Swanson and Math Bowl competitions, held on campus Thursday, Nov. 20. Nearly 100 students from 12 high schools and one middle school participated in Math Day activities, including Antonito, Crowley County, Coronado, Fountain-Ft. Forty-two students participated in the event that featured artwork in the categories of oil paint, pencil and pastels, photography, acrylic, mixed media, pencil, and sculpture. Of these graduates, 69 graduated Cum Laude (CL) earning a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.5. Fifty eight (58) students graduated Magna Cum Laude (MC) earning a minimum GPA of 3.75, and forty one (41) students graduated Summa Cum Laude (SC) earning a minimum 3.9 GPA out of a possible 4.0.

After nearly a two-year transition, Colorado State University-福利小视频 will go live on Tuesday with a new financial system that is expected to reduce paper processes, enable faster turnaround, and allow for decisions to be made based on up-to-date information. CSU-福利小视频 Noyce Scholars Program offers summer math academy

The Noyce Scholars Program at Colorado State University-福利小视频 will offer the Second Annual Summer Mathematics Academy for students from 福利小视频 County and the surrounding areas entering grades 7 through 10. The free student-oriented mathematics program will develop, extend, and strengthen key problem solving and communications skills related to algebra and number sense in a fun, supportive setting. This year’s academy will be limited to 100 registrants. Students who will benefit from the academy will include those in grades 7 through 10 who have not completed Algebra 2, as well as those who are struggling with math, and those who need an extra challenge. Pre- and post-tests will be used to better address the needs of students and illustrate student progress during the eight, two-hour classes offered from 1-3 p.m. on June 16-19 and June 23-26 at CSU-福利小视频. Daily work will include both individual and small group activities.

A former truck driver who will graduate with two degrees and a job as an engineer has been named the 2014 recipient of the Threlkeld Prize for Excellence at Colorado State University-福利小视频. 2nd Annual Running Dead Know obstacle course
