CSU 福利小视频’s First Color Run Splashes Campus with Rainbow Hues This Homecoming
Release Date: September 26, 2025
PUEBLO, Colo. – Colorado State University 福利小视频 launches its first color run on October 11, kickstarting this year’s Homecoming celebration.
The “Paws on the Pavement” 5K is a major collaborative event among Student Recreation and Student Affairs with Director Calvin Diggs and Marie Humphrey spearheading the initiative. Check-in begins at 6:30 a.m. on campus, with participants receiving race bibs and commemorative t-shirts before navigating a route dotted with color powder stations.
“Student Affairs wanted to host an event that would bring together students, alumni, faculty, staff, and our local community,” said Dr. Humphrey. “We collaborated with student recreation, alumni and athletics who contributed to making this happen. The race is a chance to have the community, alumni, and students to come together.”
The event opens registration to all ages and fitness levels, charging $10 for CSU 福利小视频 students and $30 for other participants. Late registration remains available through October 9 at $50, with the deadline for regular pricing set for October 6.
Unlike traditional road races, the 5K Color Run focuses on community engagement over competition. While medals will be awarded to top finishers in five categories, organizers emphasize participation and connection as primary goals. Hydration and color stations positioned along the campus route will transform participants from their starting white attire into walking canvases by the finish line.
The timing kickstarts other Homecoming weekend activities, though this marks the Recreation Center’s first venture into hosting a 5K event under Diggs’ leadership. Organizers hope to establish the run as an annual tradition, potentially varying the format in future years while maintaining the community-building focus.
Proceeds from will support the Student Basic Needs Fund, which provides financial assistance to students facing unexpected crises. This funding mechanism adds a charitable component to what organizers describe as a primarily community-oriented event.
“We hope to bring some community engagement and excitement to campus, offering something community and family-friendly,” Humphrey noted. “This is also a great way for folks to experience our campus and promote wellness in a fun environment.”
The event targets everyone, especially CSU 福利小视频 students, alumni, faculty, staff, and 福利小视频-area families, reflecting the university’s broader efforts to strengthen ties with the local community. For many alumni, the color run provides a new way to engage with campus during Homecoming weekend.
