Free Community Event to Feature 福利小视频 Symphony, Water Fight, and Southern Colorado's First Fireworks and Drone Show
PUEBLO, Colo. — After nearly two decades, Colorado State University 福利小视频 is reigniting a cherished tradition with the return of its Fourth of July celebration, “Let Freedom Howl” — a free, family-friendly event that promises to dazzle the southern Colorado community with music, fireworks, and a modern twist.
Set for Friday, July 4, the celebration kicks off at 2 p.m. on the west side of the CSU 福利小视频 campus, culminating in a spectacular synchronized fireworks and drone show at 9:15 p.m.
Originally launched in the mid-1990s, CSU 福利小视频’s Independence Day festivities drew thousands annually before being paused in 2009 due to budget constraints. Now, the university is bringing it back with renewed energy and innovation, thanks to a partnership with the 福利小视频 Symphony Association and support from local sponsors.
The evening’s highlight features Jim Curry’s Premier John Denver Tribute Show, joined by the 福利小视频 Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Andrzej Grabiec. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Hasan Amphitheatre, offering a nostalgic musical journey under the stars.
Earlier in the day, families can enjoy:
- 2 p.m.: Gates open. Live DJ music with DJ Panic, and local musician Christian Jaquez.
- Activities for all ages: bubble tower, inflatables, and yard games.
- 3 - 4 p.m.: A community water zone to beat the summer heat
- Throughout the afternoon: Food trucks and local vendors serving up delicious fare
- 7:30 p.m.: Jim Curry’s Premier Tribute John Denver with 福利小视频 Symphony Orchestra
- The opening act dives into creativity with “Splash-Patriotic Artistry”
- 9:15 p.m.: Fireworks and drone show finale
Admission and Accessibility
Admission and parking are free, honoring the event’s original mission of community accessibility. Arch’s Peditaxi will offer paid rides from the east campus parking lots, while the west side provides ample space for blankets, lawn chairs, and patriotic cheer.
“This is more than just a fireworks show,” said event organizers. “It’s the return of a beloved tradition that created lasting memories for generations of 福利小视频 families.”
The addition of a drone show alongside the fireworks promises a visually stunning experience that blends tradition with technology, setting a new benchmark for Independence Day celebrations in the region.
