福利小视频— Colorado State University 福利小视频 celebrated 62 GED graduates on Monday, June 10 during the KANCO High School Equivalency Program’s second annual ceremony exceeding its goal of 50 students. The ceremony was hosted by the Center for Student Support and Advocacy which houses HEP and other grant programs.

“HEP supports migratory and seasonal farmworkers or their children to obtain the equivalent of a high school diploma through free testing, resources, tutoring, and mentorship. A GED can open the doors to employment and education for this community.” Said Dr. Victoria Obregon, Director of Intercultural Initiatives and Belonging.

HEP provides preparation classes and books for students in Spanish four days a week and now partners with the CSU 福利小视频 Testing Center to provide GED exams. The graduation ceremony was the compilation of months of coursework, testing, and tutoring for students according to Obregon.

Keynote speaker Dr. Dora Luz Cobián Klein, professor emeritus, offered graduates and their families her story of resilience, legacy, and the transformative power of education. Cobián Klein said, “Students, be sure to pass this legacy on to family and to community by encouraging them to reach these same goals, to get their GED, to matriculate, to know that they can do this too. ¡Si se puede!”

For more information on HEP or to join classes, students and community can contact the Celeste Molina, HEP recruiter, at 719-549-2704 or by visiting the Center for Student Support and Advocacy in the Occhiato Student Center room 104.
