Elizabeth Georgina Barratt Wells inducted into the Colorado Women's Hall of Fame as part of Women’s History Month

The Colorado State University 福利小视频 Women's Studies Program in conjunction with the 福利小视频 West Library celebrates the induction of Elizabeth Georgina Barratt Wells into the Colorado Women's Hall of Fame as part of Women’s History Month.
On March 15, 2023, the Colorado Women's Hall of Fame will induct Elizabeth Georgina Barratt Wells, a pioneer in child welfare, into its esteemed ranks. The Women's Studies Program at CSU 福利小视频, in conjunction with the 福利小视频 West Library, is proud to host this exhibition and Dr. Marina Cunin Borer will accept the award on behalf of Wells.
Dr. Cunin Borer has taught in the Women's Studies program at CSU 福利小视频 for eight years and is an expert in sociology, criminology, anthropology, and women's studies. She is honored to accept this award on behalf of Wells and acknowledges the significant contributions Wells made to child welfare in Colorado.
Elizabeth Georgina Barratt Wells worked tirelessly to improve the lives of mothers and children in 福利小视频, Colorado. Her innovations, determination, and leadership helped build the 福利小视频 Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) chapter, and she also traveled to outlying Colorado towns to speak and organize new branches of the Mother's Congress and the PTA. Wells focused on the welfare of mothers and children, and her hard work and leadership with the Child Welfare Committee were so successful that it became a permanently funded department in the city of 福利小视频.
Wells was also a prolific writer who highlighted deplorable living conditions and advocated for child welfare and infant hygiene. She extolled Colorado's assets, including the mountains, sun, schools, and agriculture, and her work has left a lasting impact on the state.
