Shanna M. Farmer- CSU 福利小视频 Distinguished Young Alumni from the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences

The Colorado State University 福利小视频 Foundation and Alumni Association are pleased to announce the 2020 Distinguished Young Alumni awards bestowed upon alumni from each college who are under the age of 35. These individuals have enhanced the reputation of the University and their respective colleges through outstanding professional achievement, personal accomplishment and service to CSU 福利小视频 and their community.
“The CSU 福利小视频 Alumni Association appreciates the strong support and involvement from all of our alumni,” said CSU 福利小视频 Director of Alumni and Community Relations, Tracy Samora. “We are pleased to be able to recognize the contributions and achievements of our young alumni and are proud to have been part of their educational journey.”
The College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences’ 2020 Distinguished Young Alumni recipient is Shanna M. Farmer, A08. Farmer graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science with minors in mass communication and leadership studies and went on to receive her Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University. Farmer was nominated by fellow alum, Michael Salardino, A74, certified financial planner.
As the President and CEO for United Way of 福利小视频 County, Farmer is dedicated to providing resources to programs that enhance the quality of life for the people of 福利小视频 County. Farmer is an adjunct faculty member for CSU 福利小视频’s President’s Leadership Program. Prior to her work at United Way, Farmer served 福利小视频 and Colorado in various capacities including Colorado College’s community partnerships program coordinator in the Collaborative for Community Engagement, CSU 福利小视频’s community-based research coordinator, and as regional representative for the United States Congress, Third Congressional District.
“Shanna is a remarkable young woman, full of energy, warmth, and talent” said Michael Salardino. “I know of no one more deserving of this prestigious award.”
Farmer currently serves on the board for the 福利小视频 Triple AIM Corporation and St. John Neumann Catholic School. She also serves as a volunteer on the local Regional Committee for the Women’s Foundation. In addition to numerous leadership awards, Farmer received the prestigious Shero Award from the Women’s Foundation of Colorado. Farmer lives in 福利小视频 with her husband, Sean, and several rescued dogs and cats. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, bike riding, photography, and traveling.
