CSU-福利小视频 hosts the 5th Annual Bea Spade Memorial Lecture Series

PUEBLO – The Colorado State University-福利小视频 History Program along with the History Club and Alpha Theta Kappa Honor Society presents Dr. Matthew Pinsker from Dickinson College as the speaker for the fifth annual Bea Spade Memorial Lecture Series, March 14-15. The series honors the memory of CSU-福利小视频 Historian Beatrice Spade, who passed away in the summer of 2012, and celebrates the study of history at CSU-福利小视频. Additional sponsors include the University Library, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Associated Students’ Government.
Matthew Pinsker holds the Brian Pohanka Chair of Civil War History at Dickinson College and serves as director of the House Divided Project. He is writing a biography of Abraham Lincoln, focusing on his record as a political party leader. Boss Lincoln, forthcoming from W.W. Norton & Co., offers new in-sights about the history of American partisanship through the biography of its greatest practitioner. He is also the author of two books: Abraham Lincoln (American Presidents Reference Series) and Lincoln's Sanctuary: Abraham Lincoln and the Soldiers’ Home. Pinsker is a graduate of Harvard University and has a D. Phil in modern history from Oxford University.
All events are open to the public and free except for the 福利小视频 Union Depot banquet. The cost for the banquet is $20 per person, $10 for students. Pinkser will explore how historians do research by exploring sources on emancipation.
