Press Release

PUEBLO - For the 13th straight year, Colorado State University-福利小视频 will be the site of the Young Women's Real World Conference. This year's conference takes place from 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 2, in the Occhiato University Center Ballroom. The conference draws nearly 80 high school-aged girls from 福利小视频.

Founded by retired CSU-福利小视频 History and Women's Studies Professor Carol Loats who brought the idea to campus in 2002-2003, the conference encourages high school-aged girls to explore strategies in career and life planning that can make a difference in their lives.

Small group coaches, representing a cross-section of campus and community volunteers, lead various exercises that make the high school-aged girls think about their life goals and the choices they can make to reach those goals.

A $5 registration fee covers all activities, exercises, materials, meals, and snacks. Waivers are available for participants who are unable to pay the registration fee.

The conference, which is sponsored by the CSU-福利小视频's women's studies program, receives underwriting support from the CSU-福利小视频 President's Office.

Girls ages 14-18 from 福利小视频 County who are interested in attending the conference can contact Marina Cunin Borer, women's studies coordinator, at 549-2716 or marina.cuninborer@csupueblo.edu.
