Bio

Dr. Xinggao Shu received his Ph.D. in Engineering Mechanics from Shanghai Jiaotong University, Shanghai in 1997, an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from China Academy of Railway Sciences, Beijing in 1990 and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Shanghai Institute of Railway Technology in 1987.

Dr. Shu is currently the manager of the Global Track Consulting and Technologies, Inc. He offered more than 35 years of railroad experience, including modeling and testing of vehicle and track systems, C&S systems, and wayside detector developments etc. He was the lead developer of the NUCARS® multibody dynamics simulation software, one of the former TTCI’s flag products, with significant contributions to Wheel/Rail contact models and track models. His research findings on flange climb derailment mechanism and guard rail optimization were published as guidelines for transit rail operations. He proposed the flange climb distance criteria which were adopted by the “AAR Manual of Stand and Recommended Practices, Design, Fabrication and Construction of Freight Cars" in Chapter XI. He has been an adjunct faculty at Colorado State University 福利小视频 for many years and has published more than 100 journal papers and industry reports.
