Divisional Assessment for Student Affairs

Mission Statement: 

The purpose of assessment in Student Affairs is to evaluate our activities, programs, facilities, and services based on our learning outcomes.  Assessment data is collected in the form of attendance tracking, surveys, focus groups, and more.  Through evaluation of assessment data, the division will work to make continuous improvements within the division to ensure our learning outcomes are being met with the goal of optimizing student success.

Student Affairs' Goals / Learning Outcomes

Our Goals/Learning Outcomes:

Goal 1: Holistic learning and development 
Providing comprehensive whole-student support, resources, and experiences that promote personal growth, well-being, and community engagement. 
By engaging with Student Affair’s departments, students will be able to: 
  1. Identify resources that support their success.
  2. Obtain and utilize resources that meet their individual needs.
  3. Practice skills that enhance their holistic well-being.
  4. Integrate new knowledge and experiences into an existing belief system.
  5. Demonstrate commitment to fellow community members.
Goal 2: Students’ sense of belonging  
Cultivate a welcoming and inclusive campus community, foster meaningful connections with peers, staff, faculty, and community members, and provide spaces where students feel seen, valued, and respected.  
By engaging with Student Affair’s departments, students will be able to: 
  1. Develop meaningful connections with peers, staff, faculty, and community members.
  2. Develop and participate in programs or initiatives that lead to a vibrant campus community.
  3. Define what it means to be a Thunderwolf, articulating how they incorporate the guiding principles of CSU 福利小视频 within their daily lives.
  4. Students will recognize behaviors and practices that contribute to a campus climate where all individuals feel seen, valued, and respected.
Goal 3: Data-driven
Utilize data to inform practice and drive continuous improvements through key assessment tools. Ensure our practices are evidence based and responsive to student performance.  
The Division of Student Affairs will
  1. Identify and collect from relevant data sources to assess student needs and program effectiveness.
  2. Utilize a variety of assessment tools to gather actionable insights.
  3. Demonstrate data informed decision-making skills to improve programs and services.
  4. Apply assessment findings to implement improvements and measure the impact of changes over time.
  5. Effectively communicate assessment results to support understanding and the importance of Student Affairs.
Goal 4: Professional and student staff development
Utilizing professional organization competencies (NASPA/ACPA, NIRSA, AHEAD, etc.), implement comprehensive training programs, collaborative learning opportunities, and competency-building initiatives to effectively respond to the evolving needs of a varied student population. 
The Division of Student Affairs will 
  1. Identify and apply professional organization competencies (NASPA/ACPA, NIRSA, AHEAD, etc.) applicable to professional or functional area within Student Affairs.
  2. Demonstrate application of best practices in program design and implementation.
  3. Design and participate in professional development opportunities that enhance knowledge and skills of student affairs staff.
  4. Develop staff competency to meet the unique needs of our campus community.
